Transparency is a value that Co Gear holds high, and one that we believe can benefit everyone, no matter what type of business you’re in. It goes beyond just telling the truth and not everyone finds it easy to open themselves up enough to become transparent. It requires getting to know yourself, your brand, your value’s, and your truths.
It’s not a secret we’ve kept on purpose, but not everyone has seen or felt our women’s work cargo pants in action! The Alison hi vis work cargos and the Carly non hi vis work cargos both share a unique and innovative feature designed specifically for the working woman in mind. This feature is known as an Easy Fit waistband – which is simply an invisible, extendable waistband.
As I’ve moved (very slowly!) through my pregnancy journey, I’ve been lucky enough to test, trial and rock Co Gear's next generation maternity range. In doing this I’ve been able to understand the technology that has gone into the features of these designs and how they’ve been made to grow with you and your baby.
Women are underrepresented in aviation. Rural challenges are distance, limited child-care and an improving (but still not adequate) female representation in aviation. Learning to fly is hard enough, but women in rural areas don't have the option of choice with the distance and may prefer a female instructor, who are few and far between.
On this specific day of acknowledgement, we celebrate females for their work in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematic fields. February 11th marks this wonderful day for women all around the world. Let’s be sure to thank and support them for what they have contributed to society and the change they are making for generations to come.
Going green. Zero or no waste. Reduce the impact. We have all seen the widespread promotion and the benefits surrounding these topics. But how many of us have started implementing changes in our homes, to help to reduce our waste and carbon footprint? Looking after the environment and everything in it is an important task, that we all need to play a part in. No waste education and looking after the environment can not only be a great activity for conscious families, but also a very fun one!
The definition of mentor is “an experienced and trusted adviser”. In other words, it’s someone that can support you to get from where you are, to where you want to be. There are many benefits to finding the perfect mentor, and women mentoring women can be a very powerful alliance.
The word diet often gets a bad rap and the first things that come to mind is food restriction and lettuce leaves. The reality is that we all have control over how and what we eat, and have the responsibility to nurture our bodies in the way that is best for us. Mindful eating/dieting is a personal arrangement between you and the food you eat, so how can you stick to this when working away from home on a FIFO roster, when the meals are prepared for you?
When Co Gear began as “She’s Empowered”, Kym O’Leary, knew she wanted to cater to women of all body shapes and sizes. This is why our sizes range from a petite 4 to a plus size 26 – contributing to a high quality, sustainable women’s workwear brand that’s made to last.
The world got turned upside down for a lot of us in 2020 and the fear of another crazy year ahead lingers but we are here to encourage you to let go of fear and to embrace what’s ahead. How can you do that you may be thinking, well we have come up with an aspiration worksheet to get you started! It’s all about laying the foundation for a positive start to the New Year and practicing gratitude every day.
Co Gear supports sustainability in everything we do, and Christmas is the perfect time to implement that! We are continually striving to improve our workwear, while being conscious of the responsibility we have and the mechanisms available to us to do this in an environmentally sustainable way. This motivation extends further than just our business values, but also into our personal day to day.
Do you leave a blank spot where you took time off work or explain it as maternity leave? This is the resume controversy we often hear about when it comes to mother’s returning to the workforce. We decided to take a deeper look into how women feel about listing maternity or parental leave on their resumes and offer some words of advice.
