Lately there’s been a large focus on women in STEM, or more so, the lack of women in these fields. The Australian Government has created a 2020 Action Plan to enable STEM in education, support women in STEM careers and make women in STEM more visible. Empowering women to follow STEM careers starts with the foundational education in schools.
Transparency is a value that Co Gear holds high, and one that we believe can benefit everyone, no matter what type of business you’re in. It goes beyond just telling the truth and not everyone finds it easy to open themselves up enough to become transparent. With the expansion of our company and our steady growth, we knew it was time to update our current digs to our own warehouse. Being the leaders in Women’s Hi Vis Workwear and specialising in Women’s Hi Vis Maternity Workwear, we wanted to have our warehouse local – giving us more control over operations and customer experiences.
Mental health can often be viewed as a “taboo” subject, creating barriers and fear around opening communication channels to have those (sometimes tough) conversations. This is something Co Gear is passionate about breaking down in the workplace and community, along with external factors such as discrimination and workplace bullying.
Okay, so it’s not just the love for bargain shopping that makes the Co Gear team a big fan of op shops – it’s about how it reduces the impact on our environment as well. Opting to purchase second-hand saves additional pollutants such as dyes and bleach being released into the environment, as opposed to when new garments are made.
Co Gear has a name for creating industrial hi-vis Women’s Workwear, focusing on our innovative next generation maternity range, but here we are changing the game yet again with the release of Sandy. Women’s Workwear includes a broad range of styles and designs and we can proudly say that Sandy is versatile enough to stretch across multiple industries. Not only for the working woman but a staple, timeless, must-have piece for any busy woman's wardrobe.

Continuing to focus on the PPE we all know and love whilst introducing new garments that allow for easy transition between daily tasks such as operating and maintaining machinery, attending on site contract meetings, feeding the livestock or dropping in for the parent / teacher interview.
